i know its uber stupid lol, but can the mot station fail your car on having a 5 speed gearknob if its only a 4 speed?

They shouldn't be getting past second on an mot, so they can't really test it either, so long as it goes into gear and drives forward and backward, thats about as far as they're legaly bound to check the clutch and 'box operation.

i very much doubt it, they passed my sister xboyfriend and he had a ripspeed knob with no numbers on at all

lol why would they be going through your gears anyway? they dont road test, or shouldnt anyway.

They road test to check the brakes on 4WD. But unless Dave has secretly done a 4WD conversion I can't see them needing to drive it lol

Would be amusing to see an advisory sheet for "top gear missing" lmfao lol

I guess they road test the brakes on 4WD cars because the rolling road brake test machine is only 2WD.

constant four wheel drives cant be brake tested like any other cars
(on a rolling road) so they have to be driven and a thing called a tapoley
meter used to check brake performance!
doesnt matter what the gear knob says on it!
some dont have anything on! :thumb:
