Not due to poor fitting I hasten to add. I was doing a 3 point turn on an extremely narrow dirt track. Obviously high verges just destroyed the thing.

I know it was a seriously stupid thing to do and I knew it would happen before I even started turning. But yea. It happened.

Sooo which splitter next? The bumper remained intact luckily. It just ripped the rivets out of the splitter which I'd imagine was a weaker plastic than the bumper.

Am I right in assuming you'll all say Laguna?

Looking at your ride height the verge must have been the size of a small house. lol I say invest in some lowered suspension before buying another splitter.

My SEAT Ibiza splitter got ripped off my GSi bumper the dayput it on. There I was all set to go out after tea, to show my mates the fruits of the days labours (splitter & mesh grille) & I reversed off teh drive, hooked the splitter over the lawn edging & I watched the whole bumper flick up into the air from the drivers seat.......

1 phone call & a lift was arranged. Bugger!

No splitter for the win!

I had a Seat Cordoba (I think) splitter on my GSi before I sold it, car was running ultra low on speedlines and it was virtually touching the floor lol

Sadly no pics as I sold the car soon after.

It is lowered. only 35mm though.

The problem is, the Ibiza splitters are so rediculously deep. It used to scrub occasionally even at the height it is now.

I'm thinking of something a bit more original perhaps. How difficult is it to fit a new bumper? Providing I can find one unpainted like the current one.

Replacing the bumpers is pretty easy.

two 13mm bolts in the wheel arch and two retaining clips on the corners ofthe bumpers that slide off. (with a bit of persuasion)

If you must have a splitter, make it an Astra Mk4 one.

Well I wouldn't lie would I. They are Eibach springs on Apex shocks if it makes any odds. But I do agree, I wish it did look lower. But I'm not spending out and going through all that procedure again. So -35mm will have to do.

Anyone else got to the point where they think there is so much to do that you start to question whether it's worth it? By the time I get this looking how I want i'll be looking for next cars.

Ibiza splitter wasn't so bad on mine because the Std Mk2 bumper is pretty high as we can see. Good couple off inches the floor still. Surely on a GSi bumper it would be stupidly low. Especially considering my -35mm drop seems nothing to you guys!

What size wheels are they mate?

Jcb

15" with 45 tyres

Since the arches have been taken back though I'm sure I could go bigger. Main problem was they are very wide tyres so caught the inside of the rear arch.

And Razor, the Astra Mk4 splitter does look good. Anyone have ideas of cost from Vaux?

leave the splitter off - looks better without it. For a splitter to work you need the skirts on the side otherwise it looks too deep...

GSi bumper would be okay but it looks nice n tidy as it is...
