View Full Version : Clamps to change clutch
Any ideas where I can get the three U shaped clamps needed to compress the clutch pressure plate to get it through the bottom of the gearbox. Tried local factors with no joy.
F20 btw.

Tried borrowing/loan from any garage nearby?
Few quid to borrow them seems a reasonable thing. I've loaned cam/valve compress tools to do a cam swap on an 8v from my Vaux dealers mechanics.

Is there another method without using the clamps?
Kind of a errr bodge if you will.lol
Afraid not. Can physically fit it through unless its compressed. Think its gearbox off time for the second time in 2 weeks.

Mr H.
New clips are had when a new pressure plate assembly are purchased. failure of that....dimensions to create some are found in the haynes. if you can operate a ruler, hammer, vice and a hacksaw you will succeed my friend. good luck with your clutch!!!
