Try wording it properly. Asking for peak power will get you a numerical answer. Asking at what RPM peak power is produced will perhaps help people realise the info you are after.
Maybe asking for a dyno plot for the std engine output.
You can safely assume no one on this forum runs that engine.
Peak power is indeed at 6000rpm, so I would expect the soft limit to be somewhere about 6800-7000.
[edit] My source says 1110kg, power to weight of 110.81bhp/ton; 0-62mph (100kph) 9.0 seconds.

Thanks for your helpful and informative reply, but I assumed that
someone might take the time to reply with any info they had in helping
out a potential Vauxhall owner rather than provide a sarcastic comment. If someone asks for peak power of a car then it should be natural to assume the person who knows the information will take the 5 seconds extra to type 'at 6000rpm' or whatever engine speed the peak power is produced rather than giving a single figure. In fact your reference to a numerical figure puzzles me because both "123bhp" and 123bhp at 6000rpm"are numerical figures
Anyway I can tell that you evidently frown upon newbies asking
information about potential purchases. I shall make sure I don't know
anything about a car in future before buying it
Time of the month sweetie???

What a fookwit.
Peak power is surely the most power an engine produces. he didnt ask where in the galaxy or at what point in my lunchtime its produced.
Next time I want specs on a Nissan Skyline, I'll try www.Cliosport.net (http://www.Cliosport.net). :D
Warm welcome to PNG btw. :thumb:
