Wonder if any of you could help me or shed some light on my knock sensor problem.
Ive recently just fitted my rebuilt C20XE in my Nova GTE, got it all started and idleing spot on. Went for a little test drive down the road and kept it under 3k till warm and was perfect but soon as i went above 3500rpm the engine light came on and ran **** (back firing, well down on power and real rough). Did a diagnostic check and came back with code 16 Knock Sensor.
Bought a new one fitted it and torqued it up to 20NM, started it up, no engine light on but soon as i go over 3500rpm it comes back on and runs crap again.
I checked the short wiring loom for the knock sensor and idle control valve and all was fine. Did a circuit test from the main 5 pin plug to the ECU plug and there's no circuit in either wires from the knock sensor. :confused:
