When converting a 1400sr to Weber Twin DCOE carbs, is a fuel pressure regulator needed? I am unsure why this is needed, I realise it regulates fuel, but I didn't think the Nova sports had these?? Also I need to get hold of a lower alternator bracket, would prefer to get an original one and not have to make one up. Any ideas?

Cheers.

It isn't essential to have one but it is advisable otherwise you run a greater risk of fuel being forced passed the ball valves that feed the float chambers. The 40's are designed to run at low pressure - 2 -3 psi max and your std Nova fuel pump will be supplying fuel at about double this. The one i used which worked fine and was adjustable was the Purolator regulator that cost less than 20 squids - Demon Tweeks flog 'em.

Most peeps make up the extended alternator adjuster by bolting 2 of the ordinary ones together which is cheap and effective.
