i assume i can use normal nova lowering kits for the saloon??

also would any arch mods be required for Astra GTE Alloys ( 5.5x14" ) with a 40mm drop??

will it still be able to carry 4 ppl with the 40mm drop?

Would arch mods be needed for a set of 15" Astra Mk3 16v Sport Alloys with said mods?

Thanks

I "think" the kits are universal - unsure though. Haynes doesnt show any difference in suspension (rear mainly) from 3dr hatch to 5 door saloon so presume its the same.

Just have a look under your rear arch and see whether you have a similar strut to the one at the front (it contains the springs theyre not seperate)

40mm drop will be ok and 14" wheels should also be ok - no offset to worry about on the saloons as theres no arch to chaff the wheels.

Dunno about the 15" ones though - specially with people in the back.

If u get a suspension kit - make sure you get full kit - springs and shiocks (dampers) this will improve ride and also - if the back has people in it - make it stiffer and more robust.

Hi Mate.

I'm a fellow saloon owner myself and yes you can use std kits on the saloons as the suspension set up is the same.

Used a spax kit off a nova gte on mine.

The suspension will prob sit slightly lower than on a 3dr hatch (bit more weight)so 35mm kit will prob be 40.

I'm running 14x5.5 nova gsi alloys with 175/70/14 on mine without rubbing even with 3 fat peeps in the back.

The saloon arches are a lot more forgiving than 3 doors. Apparently 17's will go on saloons without arch mods.

cool - ive got some 195/60r14 tyres on it atm and they rub the shocks occasionally

prolly just cos they are cheapo kwik fit ones - i'll get some dunlops or michelins on it eventually and they should have a tighter profile

anything on the 15's?

thanks

Mine are just some cheapo make (Trayal or something).

Really can't see you having too many problems with 15's on it

well i run 195/45/15" on a 35mm lowered GSI and have no arch mods, and this dosent rub with people in the back and have had a 16v engine in the back and dosent rub, so....

If the saloon has more clearence than the 3dr hatch you should be flying!
