would you be able to use fiesta rs turbo pistons and rods for a gsi turbo? in a 16se engine?
just curious
course need to bore the block to take 81mm pistons first

the rods will be different, & it would take way too much work, I did find a number for some 8.5:1 pistons to fit a gte/gsi, I will find out if they are still available.

Doubtfull the pistons will fit GM rods. Then factor in the engines area totally different design, so the stroke, rod angles etc could actually result in the piston giving a higher CR if used in a particular engine.

Back to the drawing board.

IMHO theres no need for low comp pistons in a 1600T engine. Think about it, if there was, they be for sale somewhere in the world wouldnt they.

we are a fairly small group of people, & there are people who will make the right pistons at a price.

the main reason people like courtenay went down the spacer route was due to speed of conversion, & thus profit. a simple head off compared to a bottom end rebuild.....

If I was going down the turbo route, I would be reshelling the bottom end, reboring/reringing & making sure the oil pump & oil ways were in 100% condition. anything less will be a false economy. the engines are 20 years old.

said it yourself lol therefore its not viable making low comp pistons for an engine range that is already 20 years old lol

The way i see it is, why turn a ?60 engine into a ?1k+ one (including other PROPER mods for the actual turbo system itself)
