i've got one of them sub/amp boxes (active??)........cost ?200 but for an eight inch speaker it fuck rocks :D
makes the rear view mirror, wing mirrors and back window vibrate
things get blurry when the bass kicks in :scramble:
Yeah i have some sony xplod gear in my car, Got their ten inch sub and it is awsome, esp if you get it in a good solid sealed enclosure :) Having said that i have blown up one of their 12 inch ones, but that was more an impure signal from my amp(crappy longmill item i had years ago). I also have an xplod headunit which is awsome too :)
Thinking of buying that sub in a box thing with the amp, Dave i take it its good then :)
Also gonna get some of the high end sony xplod components.
I would definately go for the sony stuff, i have had Infinity clarrion and pheonix gold installs(all stolen :( ) and the sony was alot cheaper and really good :)
Cheers for the info - I already have a Sony Xplod headunit, speaker's in doors and 6*9's in the shelf.
I just wanted to make sure they were good before going ahead and ordering an 800w 12" sub and a 4 channel 444w amp. My mate has a box from Huets that shud fit nicely :D

Try ordering from Car Audio Centre. The 12in 900w sub is ?90 inc box and thats cheapest I've seen it. (If anyone knows of any where better please let me know!)

Hay get this I went into halfords the other week and saw the CDX CA700 for ?199 nocked down from ?230 so i was going to get it but it wasn't in stock thank god. When I got home out cam the Maxpower mag and there it was the CDX CA700X ?126 so went online to MCS Direct and it was ?125 plus ?10 P&P so ?135 and it was with me the next day now thats what i call good service at a good price. And it puts out some A1 sound

I've got 2 10" Xplods running off a Legacy 1000watt amp and the whole car fcukin shakes.... can't see outta the rear view or wing mirrors coz they're vibrating too fast and hard....
I heard Sony made OK gear, took a chance and they are fcukin awesome.... my twin box is sealed. Don't know whether to port it or not???
Need a bloody new car first coz i wrote off my nova a few weeks ago and i'm gutted...
My first ICE mod was the addition of Sony Xplod 3 way 6x9s which give some top quality sound, so I'm planning on getting one of their headunits off of MCS-Direct too. Good value and performance in my opinion, go get some.

I bought a Sony Xplod CD headunit from MCS, and a set of 5 1/4 3 ways for the front. Total price ?157.00 - bargain. And only 3 days to deliver.

sorry guys dont agree. have been fitting sony gear for years and have to say that this explod stuff is getting worse in quality- on the other hand it is as good as if not better than other makes in the price range but just saying it aint as good as the original sony stuff!
go on shout at me!

Sony xplod gear isnt exactly competition sound quality, but is well made and for the money very hard to beat.

sony are known for producing terrible car audio equipment.
Stay away from them!
why you bring this up?? Its old as aids!
OH GOD!
no no no, not the sony explode gear. Heard so many people who've slated this stuff. I've not tried any myself.
I did use to have a Sony 250X Amp which, was quite good.
But all i've seen is bad stuff written about them. Best to save your money and buy sumat with better quality... :)

Cannot beat Sony Xplod stuff interms of value for money. All my sounds are Sony stuff can't go wrong to be honest.
As mentioned they not competition stuff to do sound offs etc but apart from that they perfect for the job and if you a bit strapped for cash lol
I had two 12" pentagon subs, the red ones. They were pretty good, but to be fair I was running them off a meaty Magnat amp.
However, the 10" JL sub and Alpine amp I have now easily match the performance, if not better.
I have Xplode stuff in my car at the mo. I have a 500W amp and a 1200W 12" sub, to be fair even when the amp is working its not great. I have an oldish Sony 45x4 head unit which isnt great either. My infinity 6x9s are fantastic and i would recommend them to anyone. I'm hopefully getting a new set up soon. My other half has a JBL bass tube running off a JVC head unit with Pioneer tweeters and mid range in the front doors and it sounds fantastic! Personally i wouldnt bother getting sony ICE again, as in comparrison to other peoples set up it doesnt sound that great, however my stuff was quite cheap so if you can get it cheap go for it!
ive got a 1100watt 15" X-plod sub mounted into the spare wheel well with a class D single channel 1400watt amp powering it and X-plod 6" door speakers and JBL 6" speakers in rear false floor. All sounds to doggies when its going tbh.
Its good stuff, although yes it can be a bit pricey but you pay for quality dont you! lol
I had two Xplod 12" subs in my old car, running off a 4ch JBL amp, and imo, they sounded great, very good for the money.

that may be true, but the colour of the sony subs matches my car. And yes, that is the only reason why i have a sony sub in my boot floor :D

to be honest i have always hated sony and heard so many bad experiences of people coming into the shop with broken sony stuff, there is much better brands out there for the money!

the rep doesnt bother me tbh. As the above IS the only reason why i bought Sony X-plod stuff! :thumb:
