want to fit an electric sunroof motor in my nova just want to know if its possible and how?

yes been done get the motor out of a cav or clib, wire it off the inter light bobs your uncle

Wiring it from the interior lamp means its permanently live, no issue but worth bearing in mind.


Make sure you get the motor spacer plate from the donor vehicle.

You will need a switch surround from an Omega or Frontera IIRC as the Cavalier ones dont follow the nova headlining at all.

The std Nova winder attaches to the sunroof by 2 bolts holes, the motor attaches to 2 bolt holes further apart. Pick away the foam to find these holes. You'll need suitable countersunk allenkey bolts to bolt the motor up.

I think the bolts are m5, but I'm yet to fit mine.

The bolts holes won't be there on mk1 Nova's either usually. Neither of my mates GTE's had them, we had to drill them and use nuts and bolts.

Not sure if this is of any use, its for fitting an electric motor to a standard manual cav sunroof, but some of it may apply.
