Ive only recently had interest in nova`s (they came with a bad image when i was growing up lol ) And was wondering what the differences are in the mk1 and mk2?
Ive just bought a saloon on a G plate (89) and wanted to know what mk i have :cool:

most obvious is grill and headlights mate ....
grill with trim going under the lights is mk2
i have a 88 mk 1 and a 90 mk 2 so maybe yours is in the crossover year?

1990 is the cross over year. if you look for parts make sure you get mr1 stuff as odd parts are different , any pic of car?

Your Saloon will deffo be a MK1
Dash, interior trim pattern (seats, door cards etc), door handles (inside), bumpers, grille, headlamps, indicators, front wings, seat headrests, errrrmmm... what else?
cat, door hand posishon on the out side, zorst exit poshion on high spec,crab or spi on spec avale Eg plus is a mrt 2 a think,

Nope, saloons are both Mk1 and 2.
Mk1 came in 2 or 4 door, where as Mk2 was 4dr only.

IIRC Mk1 & 2 doors are both the same, its only the early (pre-85/D reg) ones that had a few minor differences. Having said that, the check straps on a Mk2 are welded on, whilst Mk1 is bolted, but thats not really part of the door.
