Xe Wiring

I can imagine this has been asked 100's of times but if you could help id be gratefull. The big plug under the dizziy on an Xe engine harness ... what does each wire do ?? Fuel pump etc ?? Thanks in advance.

If its the big round plug you don't use it? Remove it from the loom and run starter, alternator etc of the standard Nova car loom.

Its a big oblong one.... i think one may have gone to the fuel pump and another to the battery ??

Yeah, but i dont see a connector with wire relavent to the connector on my car

i know, that's why i asked, as he said the plug aint in your pic's, which lead's me to think it's an gte engine :thumb:

yeh sounds about right, unless its been in a nova before, ive seen some fule pump relays/ecu's in funny positions before!

does it have the 3 plug's near the ecu plug?

Having read god knows how many posts im thinking ive got an early astra gte loom.

If you have, you should have in the 6 pin plug you are talking about:

Blue/red - fuel pump
Blue - Temp
Green - revcounter
Brown/blue - ECU
Black - igntion live
Red - Permanent live

Are these the wires you have got, if not what colours do you have as there were some variations.

im sure when i did the loom for amiar, the ignition live was black/yellow?
remember phoning you lee, as it confused me a bit lol

That also rings a bell, however I have only experienced 1 gte loom...

There was a white wire on mine as well for something so think there are several versions of it.
