Welding?

I'm kinda creating a shoppin list for a project I'm plannin to start end of summer, maybe late this year (once i've paid off debts).
I was going for a 3.0v6 into nova, but the handling and fuel consumption has swayed me to LET. It'll be an ongoing project, so I'm thinking of starting off with just a standard LET, but I'm just wondering how much welding to the shell would cost?
Obviously all te strenghtening, and the extra mount, but how much would a garage want for this, Or how much would mates rates set me back?

Depends on how much welding is needed, ie stripping the car down and prepping for the sticthing/plating may well reveal lots of other work to be done.

A garage could charge anything up to ?50 per hour, plus materials.
