I brought a bonnet vent, how do i fit it?
Is a case of cutting a hole in the bonnet and the fibreglassing the vent to the bonnet because it has no fixings.
Thanks

a good person to ask is Red Devil, his name is chris and he's just put a Evo bonnet vent on, doing all the work himself, any questions, ask him, im sure he'd be nice enough to help you, he's on holiday at the mo but i think he comes back 2day.

What vent is it?
Basically you need to cut a hole in the bonnet, but only in the outer skin (if you cut all the way through the support underneath it'll flex like f u c k and you'll get cracks in no time), fiberglass it in from underneath, a bit of filler on top, smooth the hole thing down and paint.
I'm sure ade will pop in any moment now to fill in any necessary details.

It's a pulsar, it only cost me ?40.
secure it in place first with a PU seam sealer then fibreglas both sides of it, grind the fibreglass to shape and finally smooth the top with filler.

If i mark round the vent, how near should i cut to the mark or should I cut a round it and recess it in to the bonnet skin? what make of the fibreglass do you use apples? i use P40 and P38 that is because i get them in 2.25litre tins at cost price.
Matt
keep the hole as small as possible.
get your fibreglass and filler from a professional bodyshop supplier, ive heard bad reports on the likes of isopons p38 etc.
