Where can i get some uprated bearings? Cos i did 138 in my nova and as i was slowing down i lost the back end. Stopped and the back wheel was loose, jacked it up and all the bearings fell out. Examined it further when i got home and i had welded the inner race onto the stub axle.

Please help cos i cant go above 90 now

neil that happens when you overtighten the bearing putting it back on, the little bugger colapses at high speeds when u least expect it to!!

nice one. cheers dicko. I'll actually use a torque wrench next time.

as for doing 140! What ste was saying was he regulary does 70mph. But he just multiplied it by 2 to sound dead ard and the + was just a typing error. Should have read

"standard ones are fine. i do 70 all the time (except obviously when in a thirty zone)"

lol......

aren't the nuts supposed to be done up finger tight???? then when u put the wheel back on it should have the slightest bit of movement front to back?

nah i think there is actually a setting in the front of the haynes manual for them but that is all the way downstairs and i cant be bothered to actually go and look at it.

both wrong, wot u do is tighten them up til they feel a little tight with a spanner, then keep slackenin them off til u can just about move the metal washer with a thin screwdriver and a little pressure!!

you do em up until you can just move the thrust washer from side to side with a screwdriver.

also my front left bearing has gone AGAIN! poxy thing, that can wait till i can be botherd
