I'm tryin' to talk me m8 into getting a Nova... he can't afford a 1.4SR and a 1.3 is too old he says... so he has like 1500 to spend and wants as new and cheap to insure as poss... so we been lookin at the 1.2SXi's, K reg-ish.. Thing is, is it true these have 45BHP? Cuz thats shit aint it :) Also, wot do normal 1.2's handle like compared to one with just some new -35mm springs chucked on?

-35 springs will make it a lot better. It will handle like a boat as standard. especially if u put bigger wheels on it. -35 will make it as low as a standard sr, so u should get a -60 drop really

Dave, u must convince him to get a 1.2i, because this is the only person u might win in a race. As long as it's faster than that escort he has, who cares. (Escort got stuck in multi-story car park, not enough power to get up ramp).

lol :) I could beat nath in a race even if he had a quick car cuz he has no idea how to go around corners :) And I could beat ur car cuz it's fucked m8 ;) But... if they are 45BHP, has anyone got any 0-60 figures? Me book-o-facts says 14.2 secs for a 1.2 but is that the 55BHP carb version would ya think or the 1.2i version?

I dunno... any ideas peeps?

1.2 has single point injection and cat so it makes sense to loose 10bhp--a bit pants though 45 is nowt

iwas looking at an sxi k-reg, before i got me j-reg sr, the sxi has quite good styling but will be hard to mod. as it a spi, so it has a carb type filter but with an i. The bhp increases won't be to good. But go for it, it's a nova!!!

Yeah I like the styling too... bit 1.4SRish looking really aint they. If he can get to test drive one that'd be cool so we can see how shit slow they are :)

what everybody forgot to mention is that a 1.2sxi wont have been half as much thrashed as a 1.4 sr/sri

buy one and stick a lump in and take the mouldings off the side, lower it 60mm with a nice set ov 15`s and swap the front bumper for a gsi one and it will look the part i promise
