i picked up my manta 400 fibreglass bonnet today, and was wondering where i can use nitromors or a similar paint stripper on it?

just wondering if it would react to the resin??
I'd say dont - just in case. It shouldnt react but it depends on the quality of the part. If done properly there should be a gelcoat top layer before the actual resin itself. Resin is usually pretty resiliant but nitromorse if viscious stuff.
Would it not be easier just sanding the top layer of paint back (use an orbital sander) and giving it a coat of primer?

yeh, i'm going to sand it, and few people said it might react... the only reason i was going to use it, is because the paint is so thick... god knows how many layers... i'll give it ago tomorrow.
you dont need to stand it right back..
just key it in, for painting

well, the paint is cracked and its so thick...
not to worry, took the orbital sander to it today and just gave it a skimming here and there.
where's the best place to get paint for a spray gun? filler primer and matt black?
cheers

you can get plastic dipped these days, worth asking if they can dip fibre glass panels
if the paint is thick and cracked thats "usually" the gel coat thats cracked....

i've sanded it back and the gel coat is fine, its in the grooves and ridges where there's been loats of paint and the heat has caused it to crack
i'll get a pic up tomorrow
skim it with a fine filler to get rid of cracks. Then smooth back. then skim with a cellulose putty to get rid of any micro-pores.
They apply a coot coat of high build primer (or use standard primer).
Sand back and paint.
As for paint for a spray gun as above...
