Ive just bought my old nova back as i missed it like mad but the reason i got rid of it in the first place was its only a 1 litre. How easy is it to source a reasonably priced engine and get it fitted and would i have to strengthen the engine bay for anything smaller than a 1.4??
cheers

Wouldn't need any strengthening for a 1.4 or under, a complete 1.4 engine and gearbox should be less than ?100, (Some people use them as garden furniture as there's so little demand for the smaller lumps), With a decent tool kit and an engine hoist you could fit it yourself in a weekend (first home engine swap I did was like-for like 1.2's, both running again after 12 hours work).
Trouble with the 1 litre is the wiring will need to be altered to get any other sized engine to run, due to a built in resistor in the ignition feed for the coil (I think thats the right one?) that won't give enough power to the coil when starting (again, I think thats right?).
LLTN might pop up to confirm...
