what have you used to do the conversion box diff mounts ect

fjc
20-01-08, 09:18 PM
1.8 manta has all the parts needed to do this convertion, ie sump, mounts, gearbox ....... the rear axle that is needed is a manta A, as its the same width as the standard kadett axle, but has a bigger diff . if using a manta B rear axle its 2-3 inches wider , so wheels catch on the rear arches..... lucky enough ive got the manta A axle so i can put what ever wheels i want on the rear without any problems.......... the brake servo has extended to sit at the front of the engine bay aswell, as it was hitting the carbs/ inlet manifold

cheers

manta 1.8s ignition?

gearbox can be used from a 2.0 carlton/omega A. r25 with the cabel clutch.

much cheaper than a 18s gearbox, those 265 gertrags are getting really expensive. and a r25 needs less tunnel adjustment when using a 1.2 coupe shell.
you can also use a carlton mount on the left side.

Today 03:56 AMburgothat is funking awesome! why on earth would you want to sell it

i lost my licence due to the thing a few years ago, so it was just sitting in my garage taking up space, only ever used it for drifting and some track days .......... so i made the decision to sell it, then when it was up for sale no-one wanted it or they wanted it but wouldnt give me the cash i was looking for ......... a few years older now and ive got my heads screwed on a little bit more and hopfully i can drive in sensible and keep my licence ...........
