Also testing the quality of the recording, so feedback welcome!
(I think the left channel is alot louder then the right)
So, turn it up and enjoy!

Thanks conad. I think the problem is my mixer, it has taken alot abuse but I've definatly had my monies worth! I think I'll purchase a new one when I finsh my car. Digital ones seem alot better, so thats what ill buy!

A few good tips i have learned from other people;
Drum n bass is all about beat matching, so practice your beatmatching!
Always try and avoid touching the vinyls whilst they are in the mix, i.e try and use the pitch controls to speed it up (so if you wanna skip forward, dont push it with your hand, push the pitch up 0.5% for a split secord and then reset to where it was)
You dont have to be an amazing DJ for a set to sound good, keep the mixing simple and concentrate on the tune selection.
Hope any of this helps!

You can upload to dnbshare like i did - megaupload is good, but file gets deleted if there is too many downloads or after a time limit.
Didnt go to NEC this year beacuse I went a few years back and didnt get in til after 12 and then on my way out a party member of mine colapsed. The stewards where going to throw his carcase out on the streets, luckly we were there. It put me off raving for a little while.

Can't wait to hear you on a set of technics - minimum of SL-1200 mk1s, if you can afford it - go for SL-1210mk2s.
IMO - Their the best and is what I use. They ARE 'the industry standard'.
Hats off mate!
Make sure you set that link in your sig too!
wont download for me :(

Got to hand it to you djshaggeh I liked that alot.
Nice choice on TC wheres my money, loved the mix of that into Topcats Original Ses.
Some quality tunes in there and some good mixing, I'm no Dj but sounded good to me, kept the tunes rolling out.
Loving it!

Eastbourne racer, Just had a listen to your mix, Interesting mix of tunes, The tune after the basement jaxx wheres your head at, can't remember what its called, (is it by dom & roland or tech itch???) but loved the way you've slowed it down, sounds alot darker and grimey than the original. Also love the way you go from some dark tunes into speedy rave style.
Good stuff mate, and impressive that its all digitally done.
Keep up the good work lads

Not a big fan of hardcore tbh. The vocals remind me of the chipmunks. But each to there own and 1210s are serious equipment

Think some of the tunes could have been beat matched a little better or stayed in time longer but on the whole a good, decent, wanting it louder and faster set. Check out Defcom records, right up your street!

god that mixer is tiny :0 lol and the simps this is alrite, plenty of head banging going on here...
ay two channels and eq's is all i need!
Have you seen that new deck by vestx that lets you play tunes of your ipod onto re-useable vinyl, sort of like stantons final scratch thingy!
It's gone to technical these days i think, i'm content with 1210/1200 rather spend the dolla on vinyl!
Ooooooo to have decks again! think i'm going to have to by one of those camper vans that drives round the vinyl just so i can hear some of it :-(

spose i like to have 4channels tho. v cool piece of kit http://www.westenddj.co.uk/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=HDTT5000
also these are what many people are using to come into the digital world, still gives you the feel of vynal with a good pc
http://www.westenddj.co.uk/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=NUMARK_VIRTUAL_VINYL
ive never touched a vynal deck in my life, except at the age of 2 ruining my mums clapton lps lol
I've only really mixed on vinyl, started 10 years or so ago and technics where the one's to have. Just stuck with them, would like a go on the new stuff if i got the chance!

I only started last year and everyone was telling me not to bother with vinyl and go straight to CDJs. I'm definately gonna move towards CDJs now tho but I don't regret learning on vinyl cos if you can mix on crap decks cdj's shouldn't be a problem.
Plus I think it looks cooler :thumb:

is there djs at pvs? could be a larf setting up some decks out the back of someones car lol
^
I'd be up that, a lad round croydon way used to have decks in that back of his car!
Simps,
Vinyl is cool man guess i'm shy when it comes to the cdj's i just think there isn't much skill in it as, from what i gather, you just press a button rather than cue the record manually with your hand! You getter better stuff on vinyl too and then theres the more fuller flavour of the sound as apposed to cd's that vinyl gives.....gotta love those crackles!
FUSION X16XE

well atm all i got in the rear of my car is a faulse floor and sub and amp so it wouldnt take me long to fab a frame, and totaly agree with you it does sound much better but for pure ease of use cdjs/midi controlers is the way to go all your music colection on a single hdd.

You still have to be able to beat match on CDJs so it still requires skill its just that you know its gonna more accurate.
The cueing up is different. You pause the track then move the wheel and it moves the track along at fractions of a second. You bring it to the start of the beat then press play. When you know hit the cue button it always bring back to this point. So you press cue at the start of the bar then use the pitch control to beat match.
Vinyl tends to be bassier, cdj's treblier.
Its just the flexibility of CDJs and the sampler/looping tools etc that make them so attractive. A lot of DJs now are beat matching all there tunes to the pace they play then recording the tracks in full onto a cd. So when it comes to playing ur set there's less time spent beat matching and more time for trickery. Some say its cheating but personally I say its clever! You've done the beat matching, albeit at home, and you've got more time to mix ot work the crowd.
In relation to better tunes on vinyl it is true of some genre's. Difference is tho you can buy a vinyl and record it to cd but not the other way round.
And breathe....

Not really so with dnb djs.
They like to keep the vinyl alive and it also protects their tracks from getting copied to MP3, as its hassle!

The decks I've got are Numark TT-1625 Direct Drives but been borrowing my mates Stantons which are higher torque than the 1210 mk5s - lovely decks. My Numarks are ok but they jump out too often and are very plasticky, but got me started!
