[Stoo]

Picked it up t'other day! Well pleased, surprisingly quick!
I thought it was gonna be proper lethargic compared to the old DC5.
Well it is, but it has serious torque, where the teg didnt!

Anywho
Its a MK4 Ibiza Cupra on a 54 plate in Emocion Red, 26k miles!!!
Got it for a real good price too

At the mo,mods wise, its pretty std.
Its just got a Revo Remap and a boost guage.
Running about 210-220 bhp, 230-240 lbft at the mo.
Will now for sure soon after RR day

It will have a few mods over the coming months but nothing too wild!
Well, thats a lie, but ill keep you informed.

First things first though, a bloody good clean!

Very nice... My mate has a the older shape on an X plate and its such an impressive car, driving postion, handling, a good strong engine, and a nice interior. I was and he is very please with it. Especially after i done a cambelt on it in half an hour, bloody brilliant.

nice car! i do like the ibiza's... i've been debating about what car to get next, and i'm tempted by the ibiza 130tdi sport. remap, 180bhp and silly silly torque. and... when driven sensibly 60mpg. plus, insurance costs, gp7.

is it laggy at all? i am jealous, i need a job!

its not too bad, obviously if your doing 30 in 4th or 5th and try to accelerate its laggy,until the turb spools, then it pulls like fukk. But if you get it right, drive it properly, its hard to be off boost.

this does about 25-30 MPG pootling to work and back, about 20-25MPG in traffic and about 30-35 on the MWay

not too bad really.

PD130 is a good un too! They looove to slip the clutch though with remaps! clutch upgrade is the answer.

and the MK4 cupra
and the MK4 FR

all have the 1.8 20vT

although the
MK3 has a K03 turbo with 150bhp
MK4 FR has K03 with 156 BHP
and MK4 Cupra has K03s turbo with 180 bhp std

i went out with one that had just been remapped at where i used to work (red dot racing) and it was rapid... 6th gear on the motorway as well. i drive a dturbo 306 currently running 114bhp, so used to the short ratio's and tractor sound... i'd love a late fabia vrs, as they're 150 standard and they were remapped to around 200. traction conrol needed to be on, it'd wheelspin in 3rd on boost... so much torque. as you said, a standard clutch wouldn't last long...

Fabia VRs has the same PD130 engine as standard

130 BHP
229lb ft

but still, once mapped, huge torque numbers and rapid in gear acceleration

yeh i know... but some of the later ones were 150bhp... i was suprised when they went on the rollers and made 150 straight away... we had two in the same.

the funniest thing i saw was a 70year old guy really posh driving a clio 172... BUT... the guy had spent a fortune on a sweet turbo conversion, and wasn't happy that it was only making 250bhp.. he wanted 300bhp... nutter!

My mate has the old shape one of these, its a cupra R and tbh they go really well, he cans the living ****e of it day in, day out and hasnt gone wrong once!

His is chipped too, was 225 originally, now approx 270-280ish. The Seat is very quick, but seems to lack as much oomph as youd expect in midrange if that makes sense?

Ordered an N75J last night, should be here tomorrow.

Along with my Red LEDs to illuminate the Boost Gauge.
I only needed one, but could only get em in packs of 20, so with the others im gonna do some ambient lighting like the recent Minis.
ie, illuminate behind the door pulls, the ashtray, the doorpockets and maybe the footwells

Gonna be ordering 6metres of red 4mm Vac hosing to do the engine bay hoses later on probably.
Thursday im ordering my LCR Splitter and a SplitR R DV from forge too and once that arrives, ill do the vac hoses, DV fitting, N249 bypass and fit the N75 all the same time. Think im gonna mod the engine cover too so i can still have it fitted with the SplitR
