Aye, leave it a week-ish before polishing/cutting the paint.
Did you spray it yourself? Hope you have the right gear for spraying 2pak paint.

to get a real good shine, lacquer is a must

and it protects the paint too

i have another nova waiting to be sprayed, what is 1 pack paint?

what is the other type of paints you can use but is not so harmful/dangerous but still be as good as 2pack.

the past few days i have been doing a fair bit of spraying with 2k and it cant be good.

You dont need to use any lacquer with 2 pack mate and your not supposed to, primer and then 2 pack over the top, it'll probably react with lacquer put on over it, you can rub it all down with 1500 grit wet and dry used wet with soap and then panel wipe it and machine polish it for a really good shine though.

You really should use an air fed mask and a full suit.2pak is nasty s**t!

Yeh totally agree, you shouldnt make a habit of spraying 2 pack paint without this as it can cause lung spasams, not trying to scare you but there have been cases where it has killed people instantly, but much more the case is that people who have sprayed it for a long time without protection have suddenley been struck down with lung problems, just be careful mate! having said that it dose give a good shine out of the gun and is easy to flat to a nice finish without having to start from scratch.

That's fine if it's a solid color, metalics and pearlescents need lacquer to give the finish depth and protection. As said though, give it a week or maybe more to harden off properly, then go over any orange-peely areas with fine wet and dry, machine polish and it should be spot-on.

Even on some solid colors I'd use a UV resistant lacquer over the top to keep sun-fade at bay, most reds, some blues and some yellows could really do with it!

i have jus painted mine red with 2pak and the laquer was mixed in with the hardeners.

yeah solid colors are like that from some paint manufacturers, but they don't allways add the uv protection.
