Because I'm a tight git and trying to save money anywhere I can, is there anyway I can modify my standard seat subframes to take Cobra base mount seats?
Anyone tried this before or am I going to have to find out the hard way :P
Cheers

hi dude; if you have nova gsi/sr/gte subframes:

then maybe using something like this:

You could do ; but measure up first.. I tried this with my cobra daytonas and i dont think it would have worked for mine.. the cobra seat is much narrower than the o.e nova seats..
Otherwise its the hard way.. like im doing (see my project thread lol)

basically anything is possible, just weld the sh*t out of the frames so that they do fit. I got some real cheap ass bucket seats off ebay for the corsa, cost about 70 for two brand new, lol. No seat frame would fit for **** so I ended up having to completely redoing some cobra ones.
In the long run it saved a few hundred pounds, wikad

yer phil thats kinda what I'm going to do, just weld some brackets on to adapt the bog standard mounts for the normal seats to fit my buckets. Need to take a look at the frame first to see how I'm going to do it.
I fancy writing some "do it on the cheap" guides for people like me :P

you could just do what i did, these are my standard gsi frames, made to fit cobra bucket seats, when i made these i didnt have acess to a welder so i bolted them, worked just as well, they worked perfect, there on ebay at the minute as i dont need them any more lol
here is a picture might give you a little bit of help but probaly not lol
