right i was looking on ebay for some bolts but i cant figure them out especially these m ones.

now the bolts i am looking for need to be 20mm in length 8mm thread width and a maximum head size of 13mm.

so i was thinkin about gettin allen head bolts.

found a set of allen head stainless bolts on ebay that are m8 x 20

and m6 x20

now does the number that comes after the M represent the bolt width?

please someone clear it up. cheers

M is the thread size chap, has no relation to a "diameter" as such so to speak, M8 for instance would be an 8mm thread.

so then in theory the m8x20 bolt should be fine for the ones i have measured up as 8mm x 20mm long.

Make sure whatever bolts your using are suitable.
I.e. Some bolts are high tensile steel.

So dont go replacing them with some zinc plated weak bolts for instance....
