f28 gearbox

my mates going to take my f28 gearbox casing off as got a leak just want to reseasl it is there anything that i need to get before we put it together oh yeah its got quaife diff in

do not worry t's_novat. i shall help you with your unanswered quwestion. it seems some people just have no passion about F28 gearboxes.

you will need some oil
some hylomar blue sealing compound to make the faces seal nicely.
a funnel is of great helpfulness or a bottle with a tube on the lid is nice to fill nova gearbags.
treat your gearbox with care.

yes there is a nice cork gasket on the bottom that my friend Craig has mentioned. these can be bought from GM.

he will still need some oil!

F28s dont have a diff plate as such, they split in half and its rare they actually seal up 100%

yes that is why i suggested the sealing compound. you hill have to make sure the casings are flat or there will be no oil seal for you my friend!!

nah theres a drip coming from the casing we was going to split the box as it has no speed sensor ive goot one with aswell forgot to put that in is it just the same or should i just reseal it and put it back together someone said i would need a new diff seal or something like that
