any ideas how to disconect it???
a mate brought an astra sport and the ecu #ucked up he has got another ecu and key but can't get passed the imobiliser which he has been told to get a ring that goes around the ignition barrel but they are like rocking horse #hit to get hold of is there any way to bypass it?

You need the transponder chip out the ignition key,and signal pickup from around the ignition barrel. They have to match the ecu.

No you cant "disconnect" it
I have a feeling theres a way around it tho, but without looking more into how it works im not 100% sure.

he has the key/chip to match but is just missing the signal pickup
and i'm guessing it's gonna be daft money from vauxhall
but he has had the car for about 2 months now never drove it and paying 3k insurance he has already spent around 2.5k on the car

You would have to have one programmed from vauxhall, very costly.

Go back where you had the ecu from and get the pickup.
