Basically, I was listening to a bit of Tiesto on Radio 1 last night and being a fan, wouldn't mind being able to record his 'set' onto my CPU.

Radio 1 keep all of their shows online available for listening again for a week, so I want to record it before it disappears. I've tried recording through Realplayer but can't seem to get anything to record it??? The only way I can get it to play is through my Realplayer or the BBC iPlayer neither of which have the option to record streaming audio.

Suggestions?

Have you checked if the set has been made into a podcast?

A crude way to do it would be to plug a recording device into your pc and record it that way via the headphone socket, if all else fails.

What exactly is a podcast? I've seen that on my new phone but don't know what it is :wtf:

The crude way would have a last resort lol

being a bedroom dj, i know a bit abut this - for once :)

you need a program called: sony sound forge
if you have bittorrent you can find a full download, but try and get an older version as the new versions dont have encoding for mp3.

if you have trouble finding it the download, let me know.

hope this helps

The Podcasts are just short snippets from R1 programmes.

Wish I knew how tbh so I could burn off Fabio & Grooverider every week. LOL

Audacity should be able to record streaming audio if you do the line out > microphone trick, as thats how my dad records his LPs.

Go:

Start button -> Programs -> Accessories -> Volume Control -> Options -> Properties -> Recording:

Have this window open as well as Soundforge. On Soundforge press the record button on the menu at the top and a window will open, showing two signal levels and various other stuff.

Bang a CD in and flick between all the buttons in the windows recording panel. When you get the right button the two signal levels will bounce to the music, showing that it has a signal. I think that 'Analog Mix' records anything played through the PC but im unsure, you'll have to play around.

Hope this helps
