hi there just wondering what speakers fit the best behind my dash on my mk1 and how hard it is to do

scrap the idea of fitting new speakers in the dash, you'd be better off fitting speakers in the doors, there's alot more choice and they'll give much better sound quality.

10cm behind the dash iirc. As said, you'd be better off with speakers in the doors though.

i replaced mine in my mk2 today took me 1 hour including soldering the wires

I recently replaced both my front and rear speakers and used 4". They sounds ok and would be better if i had cut the cards but i wanted to keep the interior original.

You remove the glove compartment to fit the passenger side ones and you remove the clocks to fit the driver side speakers. If you are 'lucky' enough to have blanking plates where the vents should be on either end of the dash, you can pop these out to give you even more room for access.

i had the vents, and couldnt get anywhere near them, but i'd stll leave them in and put speakers elsewhere

I just used the standard speakers as tweeters, with 5.25" mids in the doors.
