hey lad i out new opel discs and pads on my nova a few days ago along with new brake lines and new fluid, but ive done around 150 miles and there shocking, i mean theres nothing in them atall ! ive blad them out and theres no air in them and the pedal isnt going out from under my foot or anythin!? maybe just longer to bed in?

Did you degrease the discs before you fitted them?

yerp think i did!?! i used thinners, would that have been ok?

That should have been ok, get yourself a can on brake+clutch cleaner and a roll of kitchen roll and give both sides of the disc, and the pads a thorough cleaning. If the pedal is fairly firm then its not likely to be a hydraulic issue. Check for leaks though just in case.

they probably need bedding in...

get them warm by doing 30-5mph stops, then after about 5 of those do some firm (not heavy) 70-30 decels. once heat is built up a few times do some keen 70-near stopped runs (2-3 should do). DO NOT stop fully.

let the system cool down and you should be fine then.

are they std pads?

As above.
When bedding them in harshly, dont bring the car to a stop with the brake pedal, as that puts deposits on the discs, which lead to them "warping", even tho they dont actually warp.

ya standard opel discs and pads. cheers lads will do this eve.
