SRI(CALLING ALL HISTORY BOFFS)

right,
2nite been trying to find a SR for my mate,
whilst doing this i was offerd anther nova,for spares,from an x g.f step bro
its hayz blue,so i wanted it for bits.(body)
so its hayz blue,on a F,
it looks like a SR,
but its a says SRI,and its got and injection engine under the bonnet.
now round the back its got the vinal,but it says vauxhall nova SRI.nowt else,got vinal down the side
but its a mk1.i didnt think sri mk 1 were built,the V5 was lost so i havent check engine numbers,but il look wen i next go round.
but the techo meter goes up to 7.5,it says 7.5 as a figure
it looks like the nova clock in my sr.
the speedo is the same,
however the wheels r missing the brakes and the interier.,plugs leads and dizzy,and prolbey more bits.
is this some som1 making a wild bird or sumthing.the tax disk says 94.
its siting on bricks and i kinda feel sorry for the old girl,.
if its just a bodge one il leave it but,ive never seen a mk1 sri which makes me wounder,is this umthing special.
i cant remember the engine but i remember looking for welds,and i couldnt see any new weld where the engine mounts been moved.
now i want proper help.
not just,ive never seen one.
want ppl who nows wot there talking bout.

well if you wanted it for body parts and its the right colour, if the price is right buy it and take the parts you need!

have a look if it has a fuel pump hangind under the back, and if it has an injection tank (pipes come out from rear to fuek pump.

they never made a Mk1 sri, but i had an sr and fitted a gte engine which sounds exactly wot ur explaning, but with also having the stickers etc im a bit confused, wot about rear spoiler?

its the same spolier as the mk sr,the one that goes around the boot.
im going get some pixs for ya lot,but the sticker look proffesional done,not like its been done with a knife.
il have look at the tank l8r.

sounds to me like they have put a 1.4sri engine in there and changed all the badges and stuff? hayzsr, i'm only down the road from you.. where have you seen it?

problem solved,
its a f***ed one,
i went back 2day to have alook at the tank,and its the same as a SR,the engine is sized like f**ked,tryed the coke trick and nowt happend,
it its just outside little brickhill,
i mean though no of the nmbers match so it aint the orginal engine,and just looking at the state of the sills,i think we better let this one go to the crusher.
shame i thought id found something intresting,
i would love to know why it was taken off the road tho in 94,coz it was made in 88.
well il try and still my x`s digi cam to get some pixs for you lot,its a shame though.

il try,it looks like the standard 1.3 engine but with injection,airfilter on the right,(which is intresting).
so was there ever a SRI

SRis were all made 1992/1993/

It could have been transplanted or as ste said it could be a nova sprint lump.

This was a 1.3 with multipoint injection (i think- ste will know for sure).

well 2 be honest it dont really matter,coz the engine seized,body to far gone,and well i dont want anther nova,one`s enough.,no afence.
il let it get scapped

if its worth the hassle then i might tear some brakes off one in a scapy and tow it back,
but ive got 3 cars already ,do i really need anther one,
but if this is a sprint then il take it and sort it out a new home

right 2moz ive got premmision(me doing thing leagal)to take the head off,so im going have alook at the engine,
coz its seized.but its still got water in the system,so im hopeing that it hasnt frozen and expanded

I would have thought ?450 is ok, its been in the Autotrader for a couple of weeks now, so you could probably offer ?300 cash, take it away same day.

right got the head off,
water has frozen in the engine and crack head and lower half, so thats y i wuldnt turn over.
so sadly one more sprint has met its death.

nova sprint is europes version of the sport :)
in sweden or switzerland it was only a 1.2 i!!! :)
