Hi All,

Sorry if this has been asked before I have done a search but couldn't find anything.

So has anyone got any info on the weight of a standard nova and its variations. i.e base model, different engines etc. Would like the info to work out power to weight ratios etc and to decide what engine and mods go in.

thankyou

940kg for a GSi rings a bell... not 100% sure.

Ranges from 735Kg for poverty spec Mk1 to 940Kg for a GSi.

Gross Vehicle Weight is the maximum weight of the car when fully loaded, i.e. if it has full passenger and cargo complement. From that, you can deduce that the poverty spec Mk1 at 750Kgs can carry a maximum of 450Kgs in weight.

gte/gsi was about 860ish the corsa gsi's are high 900s as far as im aware.

However the only nova that might weigh over 900 out of the factory was the 2lt one.

Ooops, I meant 840. The GTE is 820Kgs.

Lotus Carlton Nova is probably about 900Kgs.

probably nearer the 960kg mark, being quad turbo an all that.

Just found this.

1987 Vauxhall Nova: kerbweight 738kg
2004 Vauxhall Corsa: kerbweight 1105kg

Thats the same year as mine and as mines a poverty it cant to too far off. Where can you get your car weighed?

A weighbridge, where lorries pick up aggregates & such like.

There used to be one just around from my parents house, but the coal yard closed down. You could see the reading through the window of the portacabin even after hours.

They are dotted around, theres an 24/7 unmaned one on the westbound A27 coming into worthing that i use, near shoreham airport.
Theres one in basingstoke down a country lane but its not open at all times, and its maned afaik.
