well ive got a gsi at last thats clean enuff to do something with. its black, full sevice history, never been modded, just what i wanted. it neeeds some body work and a bit of welding.

so far ive lowered it moved the gsi badge over on the grill and put a cd player in. im going to start the welding at the weekend and maybe get the engine out. see what the weather is like first

Tidy it up, Mintish GSi's just can't be beaten, Marks (novacabrio) old one in this colour was lovely!

anyone got any ideas for wheels? i want 15"s. keep it nice and low that way.

i got epas on its way. should get that tuesday. so dash is coming out at the weekend as well as doing some welding.

Anyway the gsi looks in good shape, definetaly keep it original, theres got to be a small number of non redtop gis going around now! lol

well it didnt rain saturday so i got a bit of welding done till i got pissed off with my welder and threw it across the driveway and hit it 20 times with a hammer lol

offerd the 1st plate up,

then welded it on and put some seam sealer on it,

then started to weld the 2nd plate and give up with it as it was welding s**t. i no its not me because ive welded loads of cars at work on crapy metal and looked 100 times better then this,

so that was the end of my welder that i got from B&Q about 2 years ago. ive welded better with a gassless welder lol

adam got it from you i remember now lol. hes lowerd it 70mm on the front and about 80mm on the back. i want mine that low on 15"s tho. all about the gsi lol

year i was there when you got the gte off mark. my mate aaron has got the saloon the shell is mint just needs a good paint job. he is stripping it because you get more money for novas when you strip them lol.

had a go at fitting the corsa epas colum today. it sits 20mm higher then the nova one so my idea it to swap the top brackets over so then it should sit in the right place,

it wouldnt work there is a stud on one side. im going to get a new welder then put the nova braket on it. i cant wait to drive it with power steering. will different in a nova lol

ive had one before and never had any probs. im going to keep the standard air box with the wheels and suspension, and any other bits i change so if i do sell it its got all the orignal bits with it.

alot of garages say that because the dont like modded cars. if u smell petrol try the brether pipe that goes on the filler neck and the tank, in the inner rear drivers side wheel arch. they start crack and they wont leak just smell petrol. jack it up and check it. if the K/N made the car smell of petrol that bad you would be getting black smoke out the exhaust from overfueling.

well ive welded the nova braket to the corsa colum sits in the right place now.

and then i found the next problem. the key barrel is too low lol then run out of day light to do any more. i will finish that off some time in the week.

people that use the corsa column use the corsa dash as well. i wanted to keep the nova dash.

ive done some bits to the gsi today. got the epas fixed in wired into the loom properly. got all the dash back in. i drives like a new car but still has the nova feeling lol if you no what i mean. its the best mod ive done so far. here is some pics of how packed in it is behind the dash now,

Can you tell me about how you mounted the epas column? Also what ignition barel did you use? Nova or corsa? What thickness of spacers did you use to lower the column to fit?

if you go back a few pages you will see what i had to do, pic as well. i used the nova top mount and welded it on the corsa column, the nova and corsa barels are the same but you have to cut a new hole in the column for the barel to sit in the right place. the lower mount from the corsa column i welded to the car. it took me some time to get it right but is woth it when its done. hope this helps
