Does anyone happen to know how much power a standard 1.8i engine from a cavvy on an L plate would have as i've a chance of one for my nova, cheers
F**k all.
About 80ish bhp
90bhp for the 8v I believe
id guess at around 90 if your lucky. It will be a big block so it'll need the same work as fitting an SEH or an XE, and wont be as good as a GTE lump just with more weight.
i think philsutton summed it up when he said he'd rather fit a toasty maker under the bonnet than a 1.8 lol
AFPMSL.
Saying that.. toasty........
.......mmmmmmmmmmmm

Single point injection.
Very smooth runners but miserable power output.
If you fancy a 1.8 8v, you want a multipoint injection 18SE from an F,G,H reg Astra SRi (mk2) or better still the 18E from the early A,B,C reg mk1 & mk2 Astra GTE's with the twin butterfly inlet. Great engines.
