AHLEY DOWN PIPES

right il shut up soon,
right got the down pip off and the maiufold,
ive got all of a GTE ashley system except mauifold+down pipe ,but the down pipe of my SR is at the wrong angle.
so what im woundering is will a ASHley GTE down pipe bolt onto a Ashley SR manufold?i know the bore will be different but will it bolt on and seal?
plz help me.

probably but if you are buyin an ashley "SR" manifold and ashley "GTE" downpipe and system, why don't you just buy a GTE manifold. it will bolt on to the head.

The two have different angles at the flexible joint. You'll need to cut and weld one or the other to fit the angle of the other. Assuming they reach each other of course.

if the manifold is 4-2 it will match the GTE downpipe. if the its 4-1 it wont

gte downpipe does not match SR manifold or vice versa

why dont they?,i know the bores are differnt.

if u line up the bolt holes the ports dont match, and vice versa, the angle it makes is different becuz the downpipe kicks across on the GTE just behind the gearbox mount

an ashely manifold is an all in one item, ie comes out of the head all the way into the system. it isnt like the std cast ones that are a 2 part manifold. of you have the gte manifold and down pipe, fit it, problem solve. or fit an sr system to ur sr so called ashley down pipe, problem solved.

i have a GTE ashley system,i want to fit it to my SR nova,
my maniufold goes 4-2-1,mainfold=4 downpipe =2.system 1
the maiulfold hs GM stamped on it.
so what i got here

it wont fit unless you have the gte original cast manifold or gte 4 branch.

uve got a gte system and a 1400 manifold and it aint gonna mate up coz the gte manifold is slightly different shape so that the 2 down pipes go under the sump are slightly longer, ie factory tuned for tourque etc. the sr on is a differnt shape as it doesnt need to do this as the engine isnt as higher powered.

so fit the gte system AND a gte manifold

so to fit the ashley system do i need an ashley GTE maufold or a standard one?

you need either an ashley 4 branch for a gte or a std gte manifold

hang on mate i dont mean that the gte manifold is the same as the sr one, i just mean its in 2 bits like the sr one is, you still need the gte manifold

well this is wot im going do,so follow me though.
get hold of a standard GTE maifould and down pipe,fit it and the put the ahsley GTE system on it,so i would have a complete GTE system,on the sr.
will that go?

christ talk about trying to confuse people, why not just fit a sr system? or get a powerflow/longlife one made to your exact spec?

right,ASHLEY system was knacked on the car,
so i unbolted it at the downpipe.
and brought a ashley GTE system,
i know wanna make it fit
