1988 nova GTE 2L

For Sale - 2L 16V (C20XE) Genuine GTE on Twin Carb’s.

Lots of work has gone into this car, it has 2 months MOT and Tax but I can put it through a new mot if needed. The Spec is as follows:

F18 Gearbox
Cam belt, Rollers and Water pump replaced this year
SBD inlet manifold
Twin 45 DHLA’s
Sytec twin throttle cable linkage
Filter king regulator
Facet Blue-Top fuel pump
Piper X filters
New H&H dizzy
K1 HT leads
Standard Exhaust Manifold
Full Ashley exhaust system
The engine loom has been coated in fantastic black braid and looks great.

The engine was setup on a rolling road, with print out to prove, it runs great with load of low/ mid range power, it has a great torque curve, the dizzy will need to be “tweaked” to give the top end power as its running out of advance, but the engine is sound and very reliable.

Calibra leather heated front seats (working)
Retrimmed door cards
Remote central locking

Astra GTE Digi dash
MDF parcel shelf
Sony 15” sub and amp
6x9” with amp
Nice Mp3 head unit with SD card slot and USB

The interior is in good condition with the usual (but small) bolster wear on the drivers seat, also the door kick strip has a chip out of it, the rear seats are mint along with the front and rear door cards. The digi dash is 100% fine with all dials working.

Exterior/Bodywork

Standard GTE
Cavalier GSI Alloys Finished in black.

The bodywork needs attention. The paint work is faded on some panels.

There are a few minor dents and scrapes throughout. However rust wize the engine bay, chassis and floor pan are all in excellent condition. There has been one small plate welded on the boot corner. The wings have some very minor surface rust at the bottom, the doors are in similar condition, with the driver’s door being the worst. The last part is the rear arches, one side has been replaced and is rust free. The over arch has been filled at some point and rust is coming back through.

Overall the shell is solid and just needs someone with body work experience to sort it out.

All of the conversion parts was new last year, the carbs was added 2 months back and most parts in them are new, along with pump and regulator.

It has good brakes pads and disks, the hand brake is weak, I think this is down to a stretched cable. It still passed it mot with it though.

I have decided to keep the car now; I have got a small pug 306 as a daily driver so I can properly restore the body work,
