MASSIVE THANKS TO ANDY SMITH AND TIMMY ......

am now the owner of a h plate needed a replacement engine which luckily timmy was able to supply ....:thumb:

heres a breif write up with a few pics of the 1`st day of ownership .....

well so much can be acheived when ya get ya heads down n crack on ....

1`st stop was @ andys to load the nova up with stuff and make our way to tims place .....couple of pics of novaloaded ...

craig had given tim a paddle clutch and it wasnt now anygood for his gsi so kindly donated it ....(thanks guys ..)

pulled the gearbox of the new engine and fitted the clutch .....

the rad was knackered so steve got busy changing that and had a lil game of peeka boo with the rad ....

whilst tonto and andy went on a 140 mile round trip to collect steves c2xe engine and yep he really did load it into the back of his astra .....NUTTER!!!
steve and i got on with getting the new engine in and wired up ...

then we fitted a full magnex exhast system inc gte manifold and down pipes ...
also to get the new wheels on ....

finally all done and round the front of tims for a final sort out of the astra with a c20 in the boot again NUTTER!!....

a pic of the nova still loaded up but all ready for the trip home ...

going to get a pair of doors sprayed and then fit the skirts at the same time as need to sort the badly blacked sill`s..:(

bumper is still grey at mo was some car headlights made it look white ...

Looking good! Its suprising what can be done in time with so many useful people Lol, i remember when me and 4 others done my XE conversion, turnt out only 2 of us actually done it and the others watched, still only took 3 days

not sure if they will be on the 1200 ...??
the manifold on them at mo is for a 14/1600 and im told wont fit ...
i plan on a 2 litre 8 v being fitted then these on that ....

a bit more acheived today .... :thumb:

managed to get the new rear lowered springs in so now sat 40mm lower all round .. ... :grin
dug out a set of car mats and got them in too ...
also fitted the bonnet lifters ...
then decided was time to do a quick repair of the holey doors as a stop gap untill i can get the new doors sprayed up ...

typically it started to rain so only managed to get them all cleaned up and 1st part of the filling sorted ...

so to make use of a damp car set about giving it another go over with g3 compound to remove any more marks etc ...then a quick wash off and a brew ...

steve popped over as we needed to get some bits from the garage ...
