ok!!! i get the idea. G3 . . . we will go with the polish/cutting compound. when shall this be used? when spraying? or trying to sort oxidised paint?

MK1-GTE

it is being used on mine tommorow to remove traffic film and general fallout on the paint work ...
i believe when used its recommended to then repolish the paint work a good few times over weeks ahead to re protect the new surface ...

only kinda what ive picked up from a valeter freind so may have that a little wrong ?

be careful using G3, its a very harsh cut and if you over use it will take your paint clean off.

Try using megs stage 1 (paint cleaner), its still a cut but a very fine one so good for using on old paint. Polish with a stage 2 and finish witha gold class or NXT wax, or for best shine use some purple haze (or light fantastic if you have a light coloured car). Polish and most definitely wax it to protect the paint once you've cut it back.

i was close ...lol
was going to suggest maybe enquire and see if you can get a valeter to mop it if needed ??
had ago myself and tbh it really is dangerous to the paint if ya aint got a clue .....

Yeah, be careful with it, hence suggesting the megs first. Its happily restored my bonnet lots of times (aluminium over an extremely hot engine does not bode well for paint). G3 would have it back to metal by now lol

Also make sure the surface is properly clean, and get some decent applicator pads, as its too easy to get some dust/grit/skank in there and swirl the paint. Tescos, surprisingly, do some good pads and cloths.

At the bodyshop I used to work at we used G6 for removing light scrathes and for general polishing etc.. but G3 is alot harsher and would easily mess the paint up if you go OTT with it.

If you've got a mop or a mate has then use some G6 and you'll be fine.

there is g3 ,g6 and g10 with g3 being the most corse, use a polishing mop or there is no point really. And it is the user of the polisher that will take the paint off because it gets very hot and you burn through the paint. so when im at work and im buffing up a faded car i always have a water sprayer with cold water in to keep the paint serface cool so i dont go through. But tbh i dont recomend doing this if you dont no what you are doing

G3 is also a touring guitar virtuoso trio. Commonly consisting of Steve Vai and Joe Satriana.. accompanied by a guest (yngwie Malmsteen, John Petrucci)

G3 should really only be used with an electric mop and by someone who knows what there doing.

I had my nova g3 by my mate who works in a bodyshop and brought the shine right back.
Basically it cuts away the top layer of knackerd paint, it is when the process has been done to many times or you have a crappy honda (very thin paint as standard) that it cuts threw to the primer.

I work as a valeter and use G3 a lot, and it is very very hard to work with. Its extremlt hard to work with on dark cars, light cars is not too bad though. Just remember to keep the panel your working on wet!
I wouldnt recommend using it if you have no experiance with a buffer! You will more than likely score/mark your paint to a point where it might not be fixable. Especially on older cars which have probably had a lot of paint polished off already. My advice would be to pay a proffessional to do the job for you. Will cost money, but probably also save you some in the long run!

if you live near me the bodyshop were i work will do a full vallet witch includs a buff for about 55 pound or i do it in my time for about 30 pound

perfectly legal under Violent Crime Reduction Act (VCRA). which come out in 1-10-07

Why have they set up the UKARA Scheme ?
Under the new act it is the responsibility of the seller to verify that the purchaser is approved and they may be prosecuted if they fail to do this with due diligence.
How will the UKARA scheme do this ?
UKARA has set up an Independent Data Base which will be used to list eligible purchasers and allow UKARA retailer members to check sale recipients are bona fidi.
Who are the eligible purchasers ?
The only groups of persons now allowed to purchase RiF's are Film,TV, Museums, Theatres, Crown Servants, and persons engaged in Re-enactement activities, and airsoft skirmishing. All these purchasers must be over 18 years of age.
What must Re-enactment people and Airsoft players do to show the are bona fidi ?
Both these groups must show that their activities are covered by third party liability insurance and that they are over 18, in the case of Airsoft Players they must also show that they are regular players at an accredited game site. Which means they must be a member of a game site with the appropriate Airsoft Insurance cover.
How do players become members of an approved game site and eligible to buy RiF's ?
The games site has to record you as a member and preferable issue you with a membership card.
To qualify as an ?airsoft skirmisher? you must be a regular player at that game site having attended not less than 3 time in not less than 2 months.
