Ecotec ECU immobiliser

Does the immobiliser on the ecotec only work off the unit on the ignition barrell sending a signal to the ECU or is there another unit linked inbetween the two. If it does is not possible to get a blank key and code the chip in it from the ECU using a diagnostic machine cos thats all vauxhall do.

just has ecu then a collar round the barrel

you can code a new key to the ecu but you must have the diagnostics plug on your loom that the ecu is attached to, or you can get the immobiliser removed once and for all!
