ecu light on xe

i cant seem to get my ecu light working tried wiring a bulb in between brown/blue and brown/white and placing on earth no joy any ideas?? been told its this way connected the thing thats got the brown cover on together too

my dash hasnt got an ecu light was going to put a seperate bulb in?

Use the choke light then
Brown/Yellow.

got the light to come on thx adam, started it up it went out for less than a second and came back on connected the two wires together with the bron plug over it assuming this is to flash the codes and nothing disconeted battery for 5mins replaced started it same again goes out for less than a second back on?
