i noticed in a thread the other day that there are a few people out there with different opinions on which colour they prefer, jamaican yellow or mustard yellow, so i thought for a bit of fun i would post this poll and find out just which colour is more popular, i will also vote so join in everyone and lets find out:thumb:

Jamaican yellow:

for the purpose of the thread can someone put an equally fair picture up of both colours so everyone understands the differences. Daft i know but it will just keep things simpler with a more accurate outcome for what its worth :thumb:

Mustard yellow for me, its a far more richer colour. My mate had one and it just always looked good even at its worst.

Nail, head. IMO Jamaica Yellow is just too light a colour, mustard has more depth to it. When the sun comes out, Jamaica just looks too pale.

The density is a bit off on that pic that lynz posted, if the light was right it would look much lighter.

is very true but still mustard yellow just seems more of an older persons, plain jane boring colour lol

Retro :thumb:

Old people would stick with the olive drab or burgo brown lol

Plus the light yellow just looks like a faded mustard, and is too light to go with the grey bumpers. If the bumpers & wheels have been painted black, then yes Jamaica fits better than mustard - but on the std grey trim, mustard is the better colour IMO

To me Jamaican yellow is similar to BMW Dakar Yellow but a tad yellowier - not as custardy.

So Jamaican it is for me - what I'll be doing mine in.

Anyone know the difference between Jamaican yellow and Pineapple yellow or are they the same?

Pineapple as the name suggests, is more of a citrusy yellow, jamaica is more banana like.

I think shauns saloon should be painted up jamaica yellow by now, or at least nearly done, will be good to see how fresh the colour is, as mine was quite faded when I had it.

I think the calibra SE3s came in a similar shade of yellow, one of the limited editions ones though.

Had to scrap the shell, so i sold all the parts off it! Was in good condition but the the rear chassis legs were a bit rotten and the spring pushed through! :( It did however make it into Redline many moons ago when the PNG had a rolling road day at Well Lane Turbo!

The white one is, were busy re-working it at the minute! All the bits live on another red shell (declans burke's old shell) at the moment while the white shell is being done!:thumb:

Mustard for me, has the bonus of being a closer match to the opel "flying chips" emblem.

Ade, Pineapple is much lighter than Jamaican (I agree with the citrus comment earlier), and fades just as quick as 10-year old Flame red!

Hendrix (Andy) has an SE2 cally in yellow, I'm sure he'll pop up with the correct name for it.
