Thanks guys i can now see the light at the end of the tunnel lol

Still need to fit the top rad hose on and fit the water swirl pot so i can get it running till its warm and give it a check over

Still left to do is make the rest of the car loom for lights and wipers etc

Fit new windscreen
Bleed brakes
fit front prop
Measure up rear prop and get it shortend then fitted
fit filler neck for tank
Get and fit bigger alternator belt as its very tight just now and a bit noisy

And some other little bits and bobs as always:roll:

But do hope to get it for mot in feb and get it on the road to run it in before i get it on the track

nice project when i did sum diggin about 4x4 novas all i found out was they did about 4 trials for 4x4 novas in spain in the late eighties probably all dead now thou they used a moddified calibra rear sub frame custom drive shafts an wide arch kit if u look about they were called corsa a as u probably no hope this helps

No not been out in it yet just got it running and left it at that.

Going to make a start to it again at nights next week tho. took delivery of some new bits from motorsport developments today so need to get that fitted

Not sure If I will do them or not, been having porbs with the corsa so have been holding off doing anything, Trackscotland nights are good though, much the same thing..

Yes there has been loads done to it now just havent got round to taking pics

Its not far from being finished now. I was going to take it to crail tomorrow for some 1/4 mile runs but my fuel rail is leaking where i had the fittings tig welded :mad: still better finding out now and not when it went on fire. I will get some pics up soon

Yes i took it out for a little test drive again the other night and the turbo decided to let go:cry: it was brand new but the nut on the compressor wheel came loose and then off and broke up my blades then the broken bits of blades went through turbo and it started smoking etc etc :eek: :eek:

So it now awaits a turbo rebuild now

Been ages since i did anything to the nova so last night when i come home from work i seen it sitting in the drive looking sorry for its self so i gave it a little clean and fitted a cold air feed to the front bumper in front of the air filter

There is a ultimate street car day on at crail not this weekend but the next so i think i will take it up there for a good test drive see how it goes so the clock is going 11 days to get it running and boosting 100% and rip the tyres off lol

Hello Colin, just read all 83 pages of your thread and have to say a f*cking massive well done to you, and a massive two fingers to all the pessimistic tards who doubted this could be done or that you'd actually finish it, ive always had a dream of a 4wd nova with 300+ bhp, didn't realise there was quite that much involved but seeing this thread makes it seem alot more realistic, i absolutely love the use of the cossie YB in the nova, got to be the only true match for the C20LET, congats on the birth of your daughter, your missus might have had a baby, but youve spawned an absolute monster!!! and it'd be a damn shame for you to have to sell it before getting any real action out of it... :( +rep for the amazing work!

im away for a few months yet so will be sourcing the right donor car then. Should be starting it in the summer, full respray in a mellow pastel orange and get it back on the road. Colin done all the hard work so shouldn't be too much of a job.

Got it back put on rollover jig, removed all seam sealer from whole car and over all welds, there isnt a decent weld in sight, 90% of it was tacked and stitch welded and then rammed with sealer, if this thing was ever driving then the 450 horses would have twisted the thing up, after readig the thread and then buying the car i was expecting a lot more. Extremely dangerous and had a cheek to sell it on.
All i can say is you where good with a sealer gun!

Another nova for the scrap pile, disapointed to say the least
