I bought a miller set from a reputable welding supplies trader for the price of a "better spec" Clarke. It's an awesome bit of kit. Try and get a set that uses proper gas too, not pub crap.

a good second hand set would be better than either of those too, and would probably last longer too.

There are'nt any cheap welders that will give a good finish, spend as much as you can afford and it will give you years of reliable service.
I paid ?500 for my welder, 15 years ago, it's still going strong.

You could have the best machine in the world, but depends how good the person is using it.

the welders ideal m8 as your probly only welding 16 guage(1.2 mm panel)70-90 amps is ideal for this stuff, but as PAUL says above its only as good as the guy using it good luck

just make sure the welders set for the right weld i.e wire speed, gas, amps is set right if not this will only cause a porosity in the weld which is not good i always test it on a bit scrap metal(the same as im using)
