Do metal header tanks disipate heat as good as the standard plastic ones? Or will they hold heat in?

i would imagine they hold the heat more being steel but
they also hold more pressure and are not likely to crack
i'm not 100% on this im just polishing painting and cleaning all engine and bay
so im just after it for the looks bud i'm sure someone will put
me right or tell you what you want to know:thumb:

I've seen a custom solutions one that appears to mount to the original bracket and curve round the turret, I'll dig out a pic...

Do metal header tanks disipate heat as good as the standard plastic ones? Or will they hold heat in?

Aluminium header tanks will dissipate heat easier than plastic or stainless as aluminium is an excellent conductor of heat.

Stainless is an absolute 5hite conductor of heat.

But basically if you want to get dead techincal the amount of cooling supplied from an alloy header tank towards a cooling system is absolute naff all, it is all to do with the volume to surface area ratio.

Radiators do the cooling on cars not the header tanks, although there will be people that will tell you different, quite possibly "Bailey" suppliers :D :D

EDIT:-
Damn nice engine bay there Ash
