remove the crap exhaust and fit a proper performance system. If it's a carb model i'd recommend a four branch exhaust manifold, cam and a twin choke weber. If it's an sri, modify the airbox, fit a panel filter, gas flowed head/cam and again a good exhaust.

Loads you can do to make it faster, yes. Depends what you want to do with the car, keep it as a 1.4?

Although the evo exhaust probably gives you 400bhp anyway.

/\ Lol, you could always try one of the 20 bhp chips from e-bay?

incorrect, only a exhaust welded together out of scaff bar will allow the magical 400bhp barrier to be broken, like mine.lol

strip it out and get some light weight wheels, bigger brakes, better suspension if you already havnt.. then a proper exhaust system with 4 branch, twin carbs or weber 32/34, ported and polished head, biger valves, highlift cam, lightened and balanced bottom end..

you could do loads but depends how much money you have, but as said before get it stripped out. it is free power.
