3 years to come off, but 5 years to keep telling the insurance.

4 years to come off - 3 years is for the totting up procedure.

So if you were given 9 points in Jan 2004, then another 3 in Feb 2007, you wouldn't lose your license.

[edit] Thats for your run-of-the-mill SP30 type points. Certain points stay on longer, but thats things like DD codes (and I think IN codes too), and if you had one of those you'd probably have lost your license anyway lol

Yup its 4 years, I checked my licence last month to see when mine came off and it was 3 years to the day. Investigated a little more and yes its 4 years :(

def 4 years, i had 6 points removed a few months ago.

iirc tho, it takes 5 years for the insurance not to be ****d about them.

I was under the impression that after 3 years they didnt count.
After 4 you could get them taken off ???

There spent after 3, can have them removed from record off your paper bit come 4. Why insurance want to know for 5 i dont know, but soon as mine are spent they can do one.

Cant see them taking much off you for points you got 5 years ago TBH.

Another year and a month to go and my 1st 3 are spent :)

Yep, I think last year (Feb) Admiral wanted an extra ?10 for my SP30 points (Aug 02) and ?20 for my SP50 (June 05).
