Am I the only person who mis-read that? lol

There's quite a few cars in the features section with large installs. I'm going to have some decent audio in my saloon but its not going to OTT style wise, so will probably be quite boring to look at lol

Big installs and nova's dont really go together.

In fact, i cant think of one car on here with more than just a simple sub/amp, and some speakers.

I really dont understand when people put like 4+ subs in the back. you dont need then. ive got one 12 inche vibe space and that alone is louder and sounds better then my mate who has 5 sony ones. fair enough if you do it for the look. but for loudness you dont need that many

vibe compared to sony....

its like comparing netto beans to heinz beans. quality is more expensive than cheap crappy stuff.

alot of people do it for looks but also do it to enter spl competitons and some shows, not major competiton ones but the little piddly ones you get like a burnout competition.

yea still going strong as far as im aware.

01-01-08, 04:28 PM
Yea i know what your saying. yea i do agree if its only for show and they want 4 or 5 plus subs to fill up a boot i can see why as its much cheeper to do so then with sony then 4 or 5 vibe ones. but what im saying is when they think 4 - 5 sony subs will be louder then say one vibe it just wont happen. well from what ive seen and it will be cheeper to spend that bit more on one good sub then more on lots of subs that wont be a good sounding or louder.

i started building this with phoenix gold subs and a 4000w amp, sounded loud but sold the car before i finished it.

ive got two 12inch jbl 1000watt subs in a dual box,1400watt amp powering them, 6x9s on the parcel shelf jbl ones not sure on watt around 280 i think, small comps on the sides of parcel shelf(where standard ones sit) and front kenwood comps yet to go in(door pods are needed soon!! lol) will get some pics soon

Meh 6x9s make me wanna be sick lol..

in my white nova i had a JBL 4channel amp, a JBL 2channel amp, set of JBL fronts, and 2 12" Infinity Kappa-Slappa Subs, with a Alpine 9646453673R H/U

could make a full bottleof pop dance on my roof also vibrated my garage door that much it nearly shut. sold the stuff when i was jobless wish i never now but hey..

11-01-08, 05:39 PM
i dont understand it!! why dont people like 6x9s ??

Martin
11-01-08, 06:28 PM
there point less

if you put 6x9s on a parcel shelf above a sub or to.. the sub will vibrate the 6x9 while its trying to vibratein its own way and it just ****ed the sound up imo

loudest.com kit sucks donkey cock.... bench testd the supposid 3k mono amp and it produce no more than 1200 of mucky distorted bass. even played treble with the low pass fitler.. there is no overload protection, undersized heatsink, very dodgy components internally, and not at all stable..

well i did only pay ?30 for my CD player so maybe there is my fault! My mate also has the same problem as me, but then again i wouldn't like to speculate how much the cheap skate spent on his CDplayer either, But on a serious note, if yopu guys dont have problems with breaking any of your ICE when your driving country lanes at reasonable speeds i may get a few speakers installed, got some in my garage. Are door speakers easy enough ?

i had Golf mk3 gti and system in that was Sony MD head unit, sony equaliser, 2x Kenwood amps,1 x 4ch 400w for 2 sets of JBL mids and tweeters, 1x 2ch 800w for my 2 Rockford fosgate 12"s, sounded awesome and the equaliser made alot of diff, has 2phone inputs(fr and rear) but has 3out puts, front rear and sub so everything adjustable and has all the filters and gains there too. was very very loud but stil very clear.

sold golf without the system but only bothered puttin the subs in the nova, then stripped eveythin when xe'd it and had cage buckets etc.

there ok as a budget set up with lots of volume. Just dont expect it to sound great or last long!

Mate of mine bought there amps for his 2500watt JBL 12" subs and they lasted just outside of their warranty 13months (but then he only used them about once a week in a 1989 mini, weekend car!)

lol , im pretty sure are Zetec S use to be like that but that was a lil buggar to undo , you have to undo a bolt in the bott then get under the car and mess about .... , a think what am gunna do is just strap it some how to the back of the rear seat , then make my frame so if i do ever need to get it then al just lean the seat forward (not that i hope i do , lol ) , that way i can have my boot install with the subs and amp . also . but i havent had a look yet , i need to see which is taller the seat or the tyre ... lol

gettin a big install soon! all from the loudest.com! so lets see whos got the biggest install

pictures very much welcome:)

Not read the rest of the thread but please don't get anything from loudest.com.

They lie about the power ratings on their products etc..

My amp from them lasted 24 horus then set on fire in my boot.

I have been trying to claim the money back for it from them for over a month and today it got confirmed i would get a full refund in 5 working days.

their cheap and powerfullish but not worth it if you want ever a half decent sound!

A mate has had one in his MINI for the last 2 years with no prob's running two Vibe subs. loud yes but in the car sound quality is poo.

Fire ehhhh did you have a in-line fuse under bonnet as well in the boot and in the amp?

never heard of a amp fire unless under fused n norm the wiring that smulders then catches fire!

Hope wasn't too bad a fire? any pic's?

No it just smoked loads! seen a few flamey bits then rips it out the car damaging all the wiring and MDF floor and put it out.
