Cant be many. Dont see many peeps whoring their pics of them anymore.
Better off having a shell resprayed IMO especially as most old SR's are long past there best IMO. Just get hold of a snow plough bumper & tartan seats for the full effect.
Sporty models suffer the worst I've found.
i was thinking the same about buying one and getting it resprayed...but there aint better than a mint/original car...
I've had 2 yellow novas, one Jamican which i scrapped and i've still got a Mustard Yellow SR. There was a jamican yellow one for sale on piston heads a while ago

mint/original car...
2 things to make your search that much harder. :D
yer lol...but when one does come along its well worth it..dont you think?
If you're not in any rush, have quite a few quid to spend on one (if they are indeed that rare), and are desperate for a completely original one, then wait.
not in a real rush but want to get one soon, have a few quid to spend, not desperate for a completely original one just want it to be clean....
just going to keep my eye open for one untill im after a new car (soon) but if not then just going to get a red mk1 sr, or if not just a clean red mk1 so i can do a sr rep with an xe...

i remember when my brother past his test he went to buy a jamacan yellow sr, but insurance was way to high for him, so he bought a black 1ltr trip, wish he had bought the sr instead lol

Mustard looks far better IMO.
:tard: 1st person ive ever known to say that, personally i prefer jamaican yellow, looks less boring!! last clean jamaican yellow sr i saw went for a bit over ?1k as i was looking to buy it myself
lol yeah, I think I'm one of the few who prefers mustard. I find it a deeper colour, the Jamaica yellow is too light and banana like for me

I prefer mustard yellow tbh. I'm sure in the early days the Jamaica yellow wasnt very popular & was considered a bit 'oddball'. Its quite kitch now though & in retro circles is sought after.
Pretty sure you could get base/poverty spec models in Mustard yellow & Jamaica yellow. So easy to build a replica from a clean shell if you can find one.
I prefer Mustard myself too lol, looks very good if its been polished

Used to be a pristine E reg Mustard Yellow SR at my college. It was on the rare 13" 3 spoke alloys & had grey tartan SR seats but obviously the phase 2, mk1 bumpers & grille etc.
Thats going back to 95/96 mind you.

Seconded.
My first nova was a Jamaica yellow 5 door.
"If" I return to Nova ownership whatever I end up with will be resprayed Jamaica yellow.
I had a jamacia yellow Areg SR as a winter run about a couple of years ago loved that car, had irmscher sideskirts as well.
Might as well put mine up for the sake of it:
Bought as an original car with 138k for ?350 back in mid 2004, had no idea how rare they were back then.
