I'll put a tenner on valve(s) being bent.

Either wip a new belt on and see, if get the head off.

i put a belt on there valves are bent. the bolt holding the dteel idler on had bent causing the idler to sit at an angle and throw the belt, il stick my hands up as its completely my fault i should have done them with the belt that time! i nearly have head off now and i have a head here with good valves in so ill survive! might do some head work now its off though, i never would have bothered otherwiselol lol

there is no way you havent bent valves, they normally bend all the exhaust (i think) an some inlets. Get your lapping tool out as your in for some fun.

You just have to look at an XE valve wrong and it will bend like a spoon in Uri Gella's kitchen.

Had a cav Sri Xe in a month ago, roller gave up and slipped teeth all over the place. Just for the hell of it i threw a belt at it and bugger me she purred away lovely.

My belt slipped about 6 teeth on my LET at very low revs and did all 8 exhaust valves and a few guides.
