how much has your nova habit cost you?

i have just been looking at my reciepts from my cars and decided to add up what i have spent on the nova so far(i have only had it 4 month)here it is:

6 x toyo proxes at ?32.00 ech(trade)= ?192
starter motor=?56
blydenstein b+head=?300
spare inlet manifold,fuel rail and injectors=?40 (so i can get it sent off for fluid honing and injectors off for cleaning)
headgasket and inlet manifold gasket=?16 (for when i get the head fitted)
carbonfibre bumper=??
magnex exhaust(2nd hand)=?70
atb lsd=?530
ignition module=?52
plugs=?14
plug leads=?15
rotor arm and cap=?15
braided hoses=?45
strengthened and polybushed bottom arms and tiebars=?30

total=?1360:eek:

i didnt think i had spent that much and i havent even started on the engine yet:roll:

I'm afraid I can't post the amount - for fear of my wife seeing the overall total! A divirce would be slapped on my ass faster than a fast thing!

Especially as the cars sitting the in garage and hasnt actually been driven in over 4 years!

If you take an average Nova value and perhaps multiply it 8 times or so...could probably have bought a nice (new) mid range corsa for the came

it now owes me about ?2750 and i'v had about 15 nova's
so i would never be able to work it all out but i would imagine
around 15k/1750 inc fines incured for playing in nova's 20k+

Probably about ?18k on the black one over the 7 years i've had it, spending has slowed a lot in the last few years though and I doubt it will be getting any more.

Red one stands me at ?800 so far but its increasing by the day.

However, I did post a thread just like this on CCUK - I've got a record of almost every cost going back to the end of July '06. ?7,978.93 since then, that includes mods, running costs (fuel, insurance, tax), and servicing.

Worth it though :D

I don't even attempt to keep track of my spending on the Nova, or any of the rally cars I've had in recent years. The first rally car, a MK1 Escort was ?1750.90 to buy and build, that was 22 years ago mind.
The car below belongs to a friend, he reckons he's spent in excess of ?100K on it in 10 years

NDZ 1331 cost me the guts of ?15,000 in the 5 years that I owned it. Thats including two resprays, two sets of wheels, two interiors and two engines.

IJI (nova turbo project) Is closing in on that total and I havent finished yet.

Add those together with the other 7 Nova's i've owned in 7 years and its pushing way beond 30k.

This is one question I really wouldnt like to know the answer to! I think this is my 8th nova and the highest spec'd one to date... I have many reciepts from what martin hill had spent (running gear wise) as well as what I have spent to. If I put all reciepts together I think I'd be well into the 20-25k margin :eek: Thats without all the hours labour that me and a mate have put in too!
