Personalised Plate ideas

Got a new car coming and i want a persnal plate for it.

I have a few ideas... whats your opinion on these?


My personal fave at mo is the last one, but bearing in mind its X18, so it will need to have a (perfectly legal) but well placed bolt hole, which may end up looking like LEGGY!

sorry but i don't like them at all. but I don't like attempts to spell names in no. plates.

the worst one i ever saw was a bmw mini cooper with a bloke wearing country dancing gear. the reg was DO51 DOE as in '& dosidoe your partner'

I think they all look sh*te to be honest, nothing worse (imo) than a dodgy spaced number plate with random bolts to make it read something its not.

I'm another one who hates personalised plates.

There are a few expections but there's nothing worse than numberplates that spell something if your screw your eyes up or remove a letter.

And I agree, making numbers look like something theyre not looks stupid, all i think when i see one is 'bless, he couldnt afford the one he wanted', and putting white bolts over lines IS illegal by the way!

Mine is just my birthday and my initials, it also has the bonus of being a D plate, so im never going to buy a car i cant put it on unless i buy a right heap lol

I doubt the DVLA will issue that. they try to avoid possibly offensive plates.

Best getting a plate that doesnt need all manner of spacing and screw covers to make a word that only makes sense to you and a few others.

Looks like the top one then gets most people seeing what id like. Thats a cheaper one too.

Im of the other view, i cant see the point in intials and numbers that mean nothing to the casual observer. I like to see something relating to the car or a name.

My missus has MJ55BOO as her nick name is MissBoo
My mum has NICCN with a screw making NICCII (just)
My dads is L111S SG on an elise 111S (admitadly his initials, but it does 2 jobs)

Some other good plates ive seen are:

A13XPS on the DJ AlexPs bmw.
L3XUS on a Lexus
and loads more i cant be ****d to list

I've seen a black Mazda MX-5 wearing the plate GAY5 which creased me up - especially as it was being driven the way a RWD car should be driven (wind down windscreen type of thing)

I would only consider a plate which related to the car and which had no room for ambiguity, for example R34 GTR on an R34 GTR, although most plates of this sort are taken and very expensive.
